EVENTS:

  • 7/26: Happy Hour Fundraiser for the Lemon Hill Neighbor's Association - 50% of sales donated back to Lemon Hill
  • 7/27: Yoga class 6:30-7:30pm hosted by Roots 2 Rise. Suggested donation: $10. Those who donate will receive a $1 off drink ticket.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

Accessible via SEPTA Bus Routes 7 and 48 at 29th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, is a 5-minute walk to Lemon Hill.

ABOUT:

Lemon Hill is a historic mansion with views of both the center city skyline and the Schuylkill River located off Lemon Hill Drive. Lemon Hill mansion was built in 1800 as a summer retreat by Henry Pratt, a prosperous Philadelphia merchant. He named it “Lemon Hill” after the lemon trees in the greenhouse. After Henry Pratt’s death in 1838, Lemon Hill became the first park land formally acquired by the City for the creation of Fairmount Park. Since then, Lemon Hill has seen a variety of uses, including a German beer garden with feasting, a site for concerts and a restaurant. Today, Lemon Hill is open for visitors between April and mid-December, hours vary.
